Aegis Living Aptos is one of many assisted living facilities in Santa Cruz County that are finally receiving their vaccine through the Federal Pharmacy Partnership after months of anticipation.

Aegis hosted its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Wednesday. More than 60 residents and 55 staff were vaccinated.

According to data obtained by Lookout from county health officials and CVS, all of the assisted living facilities in Santa Cruz County that are enrolled in the pharmacy partnership have now either completed their first round of vaccinations or are scheduled to do so by the end of this week.

The event at Aegis was marked by a Rosie the Riveter themed celebration, and family members were encouraged to send in Rosie the Riveter photos to support their loved ones.

“Having the vaccine here at Aegis Living Aptos brings hope for a better future,” said the community’s general manager Griselda Galvan.
