  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application to renew a vacation rental permit for a two-bedroom condominium at 240 Rio Del Mar Blvd., Unit F, in Aptos. Residents can submit public comments on the application until May 28. (view application)

Community crime report

  • A person was involved in a DUI incident, child endangerment, driving without a license, and failing to provide financial responsibility. This happened near Searidge Drive at Llyod Court in Santa Cruz County at 10 p.m. on April 27. (source)
     
  • A person was involved in a series of offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol, possible assault with force, violating a court order related to domestic violence, driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI, driving without a required interlock device, and failing to maintain vehicle lighting equipment. This incident occurred near 3018 McGlenn Drive in Santa Cruz County at 8 a.m. on April 27. (source)
     
  • A DUI incident involving alcohol occurred at 6 a.m. on April 27 near southbound State Route 1 at Mar Monte in Santa Cruz County. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior offense. This happened near Mar Monte Ave. just west of SR-1 southbound in Santa Cruz County at midnight on April 25. (source)
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for roadway excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
