Quick Take:
County health officials are encouraging people who have difficulty leaving their homes to fill out an online survey that is designed to help get them vaccinated.
If you’re a homebound Santa Cruz County resident and haven’t yet gotten a COVID-19 vaccination, the county’s public health department wants to help you get inoculated by sending a medical professional your way.
County officials are encouraging homebound people to visit https://www.santacruzhealth.org/coronavirusvaccine and click the “homebound vaccination” survey link near the top of the page.
As Santa Cruz County inches out of the pandemic, Lookout is chronicling the changes in our lives and the accomplishments of everyday people. “People in the Pandemic” is one of eight Lookout initiatives documenting all aspects of life amid COVID. For more, go to our COVID 2021 section, and sign up for COVID Text Alerts and our COVID PM newsletter here.
The survey — available in English and Spanish — will help health officials assess vaccine needs for homebound individuals, with any personal information those invididuals might provide being treated as private health information that will not be shared with outside parties. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and staff will reach out to schedule appointments for qualifying individuals.
People who need assistance filling out the survey can call or text Community Bridges’ “Bridges to Access Vaccination Helpline” at (831) 219-8607.
