Toasting Last Chance: Local bands will play brewery gig as wildfire fundraiser

THE HERE & NOW: Cement Ship and Wide Eyed will perform in two socially distanced concerts at Shanty Shack to raise money to rebuild the community center.
Your chance to raise a toast to — and funds for — the good people of Last Chance are here.
On Sunday, Shanty Shack Brewing in Santa Cruz will host a fundraiser to help the residents of Last Chance in the Santa Cruz Mountains rebuild after the CZU Lightning Complex fire.
Last Chance is a remote community near Big Basin State Park. All but a few of the homes in the area were destroyed in August, as result of the devastating wildfires. Also lost was the local community center, known as the Millsite.
On Sunday, two local bands, Cement Ship and Wide Eyed will perform in two socially distanced concerts, 3 and 6 p.m. to raise money to rebuild the community center.
Shanty Shack is located at 138 Fern St., in the Harvey West area of Santa Cruz.
