Russell Chen, a senior civil engineer with Santa Cruz County.

“The purpose is the bike lanes to try to make it more comfortable to increase the amount of people that actually use the bike lanes, and then same with the crosswalks,” said Russell Chen, a senior civil engineer with Santa Cruz County. “It’s all for pedestrian and bike safety.”
