Santa Cruz police seek public’s help in finding shooting suspect

Officers found the 33-year-old victim in a campsite on a hillside in Sycamore Grove, police said in a Facebook post. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Santa Cruz police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a suspect who shot a 33-year-old man in the leg around 8 p.m. Wednesday near State Route 9 and Vernon Street.

Responding to a call about the shooting, officers found the 33-year-old victim in a campsite on a hillside in Sycamore Grove, police said in a Facebook post. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

“The victim did not provide any information about what transpired or the circumstances to provoke the shooting,” police said.
