A man who was riding his bicycle on West Cliff Drive at Fair Avenue as the sun set on Thursday plunged off the trail and onto the beach below.
The Santa Cruz Fire Department and Santa Cruz Police Department responded with a ladder truck to hoist the man up to the road, near Chris’s Cove, in a basket.
He was then transported to a local hospital, according to Police Chief Andy Mills. No other information was immediately available on his condition.
