You have another chance to support fire victims by watching stream of ‘Love You Madly’

‘Love You Madly,’ the ambitious musical fundraising effort on behalf of Santa Cruz County fire victims, returns with a re-broadcast of its Dec. 5 show, after having raised more than $100,000.

“Love You Madly,” the two-hour-plus streaming special featuring a battalion of nationally and locally popular recording artists to raise money for Santa Cruz County fire victims, is coming back.

The special event, which was first streamed on Dec. 5, will be streamed again on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. on Nugs.TV, “LYM” organizers announced Wednesday. The event featured a number of video performances by Steve Earle, Sammy Hagar, Bonnie Raitt & Boz Scaggs, Joe Satriani, Kevin Cronin, Los Lobos, and many more.

Producer Jon Luini also announced that “LYM” has raised about $110,000 from direct donations, sales of T-shirts, and an auction that featured custom autographed guitars from Hagar and Satriani. That amount was added to the ongoing Fire Response Fund, administered by Community Foundation Santa Cruz County.

The fund goes to local nonprofits addressing the needs and recovery plans of local residents displaced by the CZU Lightning Complex fires of August. The fund has already donated more than $600,000 to locals in need.

“Love You Madly” continues to raise funds for fire relief through the weekly release of new videos from various musical artists.
