Boulders fall on car on Highway 17 near Redwood Estates causing severe jam
Two rocks slid down the hillside and hit a Toyota Prius in the southbound lane of Highway 17 near Redwood Estates just after 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Initial reports indicated that at least one of the boulders weighed about 800 pounds and measured about 6-feet by 6-feet. Traffic was backed up as workers cleared the scene.
Highway Patrol logs indicated the driver of the car was not hurt. A KRON news reporter later caught up with the driver.
