Purr-fect chance to adopt a feline as 47 cats, kittens rescued from RV in Santa Cruz County

The offer is a consequence of an unusually large shelter rescue. Recently, the SCCAS took responsibility for almost 50 cats living in poor conditions in a small recreational vehicle, dramatically increasing the inventory for available cats at the shelter.
The message that the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is issuing this month to anyone toying with the idea of adding a cat to their household is pretty simple: There’s no time like the present.
The SCCAS announced that it is offering cats four months or older to prospective new homes for an adoption fee of only $50 for the month of May.
That’s about half the regular fee for cat adoption, which covers vaccinations, spay/neuter services, implanting a microchip, fleas/worms treatment, and a pet wellness exam. The fee also includes a new pet carrier.
The offer is a consequence of an unusually large shelter rescue. Recently, the SCCAS took responsibility for 47 cats living in poor conditions in a small recreational vehicle in Live Oak, dramatically increasing the inventory for available cats at the shelter.
