Years of service: 42
Their story: Hospice of Santa Cruz County envisions a community where all people live and die with dignity. Founded in 1978, Hospice of Santa Cruz County has been a pioneer in the hospice movement and has honored the choices of individuals and families by providing exemplary end-of-life care and grief support for over 42 years. As the county’s leading nonprofit provider of hospice care, the hospice program is enriched by community funded grief support, a children’s bereavement camp, transitional and palliative care services, pet companion and music therapy programs, hospice care for veterans, concurrent care for children and end-of-life community education and outreach.
Fundraising focus: Hospice relies on the generosity of the community to continue programs like Music Therapy, Community Grief Support, Camp Erin©, We Honor Veterans and more. Contact Jenn Drummond, Director of Development, to learn more about how you can support these community-funded programs. Ways to give include making a tribute gift, joining a donor circle, gifts of stock and charitable IRA rollover. For more on those options, go here.

“We’d like to offer an invitation to the community. If you or a friend is grieving the loss of a loved one, or your grief has been intensified by all the recent crises in our community, call us. If you’ve been nourished by our author talks or wondered about what happens at a Death Café, visit our website or give us a call. And if you’re wondering whether now is the right time for palliative or hospice care, let’s talk about it. We are here for you.”
