Civic Group
Valley Women’s Club of the San Lorenzo Valley

Celebrating 40 years of community and environmental support.

Years active: 42

Their story: Back in 1978, a group of women decided there was a need to create an organization focused on improving life in the San Lorenzo Valley. Within just a few months, the group had expanded to include men as members but they kept the name as sort of a tongue-in-cheek thing. In the past four decades, the organization has sponsored programs and events such as the Redwood Mountain Faire, annual river and road cleanups, the San Lorenzo Valley native habit restoration and butterfly garden project, and many others. More recently, the group has focused efforts on providing masks for local first responders, business owners, schools and others.

Fundraising focus: You can donate to one of many programs, including General Fund, Environmental Committee, SLV Native Habitat Restoration, Caregivers, Respite Fund, Women’s Issues, Education, Scholarship, Masks4SLV Program. For specifics on each program, go to the support page.

We’re dedicated to community action, awareness and leadership in environmental educational, social and political concerns affecting the health and welfare of the San Lorenzo Valley community.
