Their story: The 100 members of Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise are dedicated to their community and making it a better place, both at the global and local scale. As part of Rotary International, the largest philanthropic organization in the world, they run annual fundraisers and take part in service work. From collecting and packing food for Second Harvest to putting on the annual Firecracker 10K each July 4th, the group combines good causes with good times.
Other endeavors include the Rotary Bike Ride, a three-day bicycle trip up the coast, and the Wine to Water event, which raises money for water and sanitation projects in Uganda. The Rotary also sponsors an exchange student program, as well as chapters of the club based at UC Santa Cruz and Harbor High School.
