STS9 returns to Santa Cruz; performing at the Quarry Amphitheater August 4th & 5th

This summer, get ready to lose yourself in the rhythm and immerse yourself in the unforgettable experience that is STS9 at UCSC’s Quarry Amphitheater. Bringing their cutting-edge sound and immersive light show to Santa Cruz for TWO NIGHTS on Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5, It’s going to be an epic sonic adventure you won’t want to miss.

The historic Quarry Amphitheater is located at the heart of the UC Santa Cruz campus, carved from a former limestone quarry in the 1960’s. The Quarry Amphitheater’s unique terraced design offers the whole crowd perfect sightlines, combined with excellent acoustics assisted by the tall trees surrounding the space.

STS9, a band that has released twelve albums and has performed in Santa Cruz dozens of times over the last two decades, including a visit to the UCSC Quarry last year, considers these summer concerts a special homecoming show.

Using electronic and acoustic means, the instrumental five-piece—comprised of Hunter Brown (guitar/keys), Jeffree Lerner (percussion), David Phipps (keyboards), Zach Velmer (drums), and Alana Rocklin (bass)—channels the primordial and celestial, producing a cutting-edge sound that has forged a path for multiple generations of electronic dance music.

With a fully immersive light show, STS9 will take over UCSC’s Quarry Amphitheater, an 1800s rock quarry-turned-outdoor amphitheater and concert venue, for two nights this summer.
