  • Today, Route 1 will see closures for drainage work. This work will last until June 10 at 5:59 a.m.
  • Today, some lanes on North SR-1 at 41st Avenue are closed because of paving work. This started today and will end on June 10.
  • Today, some lanes on South SR-1 at Soquel Drive are closed because of paving work. This started on June 6 and will end on June 10.
  • Today, there’s a lane closure on North SR-1 at 41st Avenue because of roadwork. This started today and will end tomorrow.
  • Long-term projects: There’s a single-lane closure on Mattison Lane and Soquel Drive in Santa Cruz, near 265 Soquel Dr, happening weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This started on May 21 and will continue until June 7, due to emergency sewer main repairs.

  • A person was arrested for sexually assaulting someone by using force or fear. This happened at 9 p.m. on July 10, near the 300 Block of Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. (source)
  • A driver hit someone on a bike but luckily, the person on the bike wasn’t hurt. After hitting the bicyclist, the driver left the scene. This happened at 3 p.m. on June 5, near Broadway and Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. There was also some property damage caused by the incident. (source)
  • A man was involved in a hit and run accident that caused property damage. This happened because he was driving without a license. The incident occurred at 11 p.m. on June 4, near the 300 Block of Ocean St in Santa Cruz. (source)
  • A local resident was arrested last night at 10 p.m. for having illegal drugs and driving under the influence near Water St and W Ocean St in Santa Cruz. The charges include possession of a narcotic controlled substance and DUI related to drug use. (source)
