Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Some lanes on East SR-152 near Holm Road are closed off and on because of landscaping work. This started on June 8 and will end today, June 10.
  • Some lanes on West SR-152 at Freedom Blvd are closed off and on because of landscaping work. This started on June 8 and will end today.
  • There’s a one-way traffic closure on East/West SR-129 at White Street because of utility work. This started on June 8 and will end today.
  • Some lanes on East SR-129 at Sakata Lane are closed off and on because of utility work. This started on June 8 and will end today, June 10.
  • A lane on East SR-129 at Rodriguez Street was closed because of utility work. This started on June 8 and ended today at 5:01 a.m.
  • Long-term projects: At the intersection of Highway 152 and Holohan Road in Watsonville, one lane on Holohan Rd will be closed from March 11 until the end of July, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is for road and signal upgrades. Expect lane closures and lower speed limits in the area during these times.

Community crime report

  • Early in the morning at 3 a.m. on June 1, there was a serious incident near Crestview Drive and Freedom Blvd in Watsonville. A person was arrested for several crimes, including domestic violence, holding someone against their will, and drug-related offenses. (source)
  • An 18-year-old was arrested for being drunk in public and causing a disturbance. This happened at 10 p.m. on June 6, near the 100 Block of Riverside Drive in Watsonville. After the arrest, he was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail. (source)
  • A 37-year-old man was approached by police in a public area because he seemed to be under the influence. Upon checking, he was found with illegal drug-related items and a controlled substance. This happened at 6 p.m. on June 6, near the 100 Block of Alta Vista Avenue in Watsonville. He was charged with having illegal drug paraphernalia, possessing a controlled substance, and behaving disorderly while under the influence of a drug. (source)
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 4 p.m on June near the 100 Block of Holm Rd in Watsonville. After his arrest, he was given a ticket that included a date to go to court and was released to someone who was sober. (source)
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested early in the morning for being drunk in public and causing a disturbance. This happened at 8 a.m. on June 6, near the Block of B1 in Watsonville. After his arrest, he was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail. (source)
  • A battery incident happened at 4 p.m. on June 1 near the intersection of Lakeview Road and Kingston Drive in Santa Cruz County. (source)
