Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Yesterday, there were reports of broken traffic lights at the intersection of SR-129 and Union St.
  • Today, there’s some landscaping work happening on East SR-129 at Locust Street. Because of this, they’re closing different lanes off and on until June 10.
  • Today, some lanes on West SR-129 at Main Street are closed because of landscaping work. This started on June 6 and will end on June 10.
  • Today, there’s a lane closure on East SR-152 at Holm Road because of landscaping work. This will last until June 10.
  • Today, some lanes on West SR-152 at Freedom Blvd are closed because of landscaping work. This started today and will end on June 10.
  • Today, there’s a one-way traffic closure on East/West SR-129 at White Street because of utility work. This started on June 6 and will end on June 10 at 3:01 p.m.
  • Today, there’s a lane closure on East SR-129 at Rodriguez Street because of utility work. This started today and will end on June 10 at 5:01 a.m.
  • Long-term projects: In Watsonville, at the intersection of Highway 152 and Holohan Road, one lane on Holohan Rd will be closed from March 11 until the end of July, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. This is for road and signal upgrades. Expect lane closures and lower speed limits in the area during these times.

  • A 58-year-old man was caught giving tobacco to a young person who was actually working undercover. This happened near the 200 Block of Green Valley Rd in Watsonville around 5 p.m. on June 4. He was given a ticket for this misdemeanor offense and then allowed to leave the scene. (source)
  • A 40-year-old man was arrested early in the morning for having illegal items and being on property where he wasn’t allowed. This happened at 8 a.m. on June 4, near the 140 Block of Main Street in Watsonville. Both charges against him are considered minor offenses. (source)
  • Someone broke into a car by smashing the left rear window with something. This happened overnight while the car was parked on the street in front of the victim’s house. They stole personal items from inside the car. This car break-in, which is considered a minor crime, occurred at midnight on June 4, near the 300 Block of Stanford Avenue in Watsonville. (source)
