Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on Apr. 24

  • A vehicle hit a stop sign at the intersection of Cresta Dr and Highway 9 in San Lorenzo Valley, causing a traffic hazard. This was reported today.
     
  • There was a traffic incident today on Highway 1 North at the intersection with Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The California Highway Patrol assisted with a construction-related issue.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Little Basin Rd in San Lorenzo Valley is closed from December 23 to April 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the construction of two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is having storm damage repairs. This is causing single lane closures and traffic delays from January 16 to May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
     
  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a pipeline project by SCWD and SVWD. Traffic control is in place to manage the closure.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak will have traffic delays and lane closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Construction is scheduled for April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
     
  • Green Valley Road, from Holohan Road to Mesa Verde Road in Watsonville/Pajaro, will have single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect delays or find another route. The work should be done by April 30th, weather permitting.
     
  • A single lane on Soquel Drive, between Cotton Lane and Porter Street in Capitola/Soquel, is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The closure started on March 13 and will continue until May 9. Work is happening on weeknights only, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., and switched to night work on March 25.
