Road incidents as of 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10

  • A single-car accident happened on Highway 1 South at 41st Avenue at 7:23 p.m. today. The car was on its side with the driver inside and the interior lights on. It was stuck in the mud and may have hit an embankment. Passersby stopped to help, and both vehicles had their hazard lights on. Emergency services were initially sent but later canceled.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive in the Eastside/Live Oak area is closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end by 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • Green Valley Road in Watsonville, from Holohan Road to Casserly Road, is experiencing single lane closures due to a Multi-Use Trail Improvement Project. These closures occur from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting July 15 and expected to continue until February 28, weather permitting.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Rd in San Lorenzo Valley is closed from December 23 to April 25, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., to build two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for storm damage repair. Expect traffic delays from January 16 to May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
