Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on May 8
- There was a traffic incident today at the intersection of Highway 17 North and Sugarloaf Road in Scotts Valley. The California Highway Patrol assisted with construction activities.
- The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
Long-term projects

- A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive in Scotts Valley, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
- Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue will have traffic delays and lane closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Construction is scheduled for April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
- A single lane on Soquel Drive, from Cotton Lane to Porter Street, is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The closure is in effect from March 25 to May 9, with work happening on weeknights only from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The project has switched to night work to reduce daytime traffic disruption.
- Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley will have single lane closures for storm damage repair. These closures will happen from January 16 to May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on the weather, and may cause traffic delays.
