Monterey County detectives say they discovered a body buried by the Pajaro River levee west of the bridge connecting the community of Pajaro to Watsonville.
The sheriff’s office said it received information Thursday leading investigators to believe there was a body along the levee. Detectives arrived at scene around 3 p.m. to start their search. By 8 p.m., investigators had located the body.
Investigators said Friday that they had not yet identified the deceased person. A oroner division will soon perform an autopsy and examination in hopes of determining the identity of the body.
