The City of Capitola will ask residents to weigh in on a strategic plan for the community at a public forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Community Room at Capitola City Hall.

In a release, city officials said they hope residents will “share their ideas for how they want Capitola to look and feel five years from now.” In addition to the in-person forum, the city is asking residents to complete an online survey, conducting stakeholder interviews, collecting data and asking residents to submit ideas online.

The project will establish strategic goals for the next five years, “providing a framework for decision-making and resource allocation.”

“The project’s goal is to create a ‘living document’ that allows for flexibility and adjustments as the city’s needs change and as future council members contribute their unique perspectives,” city officials said in a release.

City leadership will meet in mid-November to begin drafting the strategic plan, with the goal of final adoption by the City Council in early 2025.
