Monterey Bay NPR affiliate KAZU (90.3 FM) is back on the air and streaming this week after a move of its studio caused disruptions in its broadcast signal.
KAZU is on the move, not from its perch at 90.3 FM on the radio dial, but to a new physical space. This matters to listeners only because that move has interrupted transmission of the Monterey Bay area NPR affiliate both over the airwaves and streaming online.
According to a statement released by KAZU, the station is back to full strength on live radio and webstream.
The physical move of the station’s studios and offices, from the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay to a new location at the Ryan Ranch office park east of Monterey, led to some disruptions in service over the weekend. Though KAZU was fully back to normal as of Monday, the statement also said, “You may still notice some brief interruptions while we complete our relocation transition.”
KAZU offers its live broadcast online; a 24-hour classical stream remained unavailable as of Wednesday morning.
