Letter to the editor: We already have Metro – do we need a train?

Many of the letters promoting a train-at-any-cost speak for those who do not drive or who do not ride a bike, or even on behalf of those who complain about the traffic and wish for another choice in Santa Cruz County. 

So I continue to wonder how it is that these passionate folks seem to have entirely forgotten that we already have Metro (and ParaCruz)! You know, the countywide bus system that for about a dollar a ride goes to many more neighborhoods than our single train track could ever do, far more frequently, and even better, doesn’t require the infusion of billions of dollars to build and maintain its own unique infrastructure. 

It’s a mystery! Do they just see what they want to see?
