Property development
- On Aug. 14, the Santa Cruz County Planning Department formally approved a zoning application for a project at 21511 East Cliff Dr. The approved project will remodel the existing market at this location into a deli featuring both indoor and outdoor dining for more than 12 seats, as well as permitting off-site beer and wine sales. Planned improvements include the installation of skylights, rooftop-mounted equipment with new screening, a new automatic sliding exterior door, removal of a section of existing railing at the covered walkway, and construction of a new concrete pad in the alley for a transformer and generator. The remodel will affect 2,380 square feet within the one-story building, with no new grading, additional building area, or fire sprinklers proposed. The project also required an amendment to a previous permit. (view application)
