Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • A single vehicle went off the road at 13830 Highway 9 in Boulder Creek around 3:21 a.m. today. The car hit a telephone pole, but there was no damage to the pole and no one was hurt. Fire and tow services were contacted, but no notifications were needed and the tow request was later canceled.
     

New local businesses

  • A new business named BIG BASIN ROAD ASSOCIATION was registered at 28800 Big Basin Way, Boulder Creek, on April 1. The business was registered by Kristel Krepelka.
     
  • A new business named SANCTUARY OF THE HEART was registered at 6974 Empire Grade, Santa Cruz, on April 1. The business was registered by Lisa Mayi Goodenough as an individual business.
     

Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Santa Cruz reports both those who have passed the inspections and those that the county deems to have a “major” issue. The county’s full ongoing report can be accessed here.

  • San Lorenzo Valley Charter School at 325 Marion Ave., Ben Lomond, passed a county health inspection on April 6 with no critical issues.
