Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • South Highway 1 is facing closures at Highway 129 because of roadwork. The closure will last until 5:59 a.m. tomorrow.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on Highway 129 at Highway 1 for roadwork. The closure will last until 5:59 a.m. tomorrow.
     
  • There is one-way traffic on Highway 129 at Union Street because of roadwork. This closure will last until 5:59 a.m. tomorrow.

Community crime report

  • A person was arrested after officers found a meth pipe with residue, a loaded gun, and ammunition in their vehicle. The person was charged with having drugs while armed, intending to sell drugs, being a felon with a gun and ammunition, having illegal drug equipment, resisting arrest, and owning a gun without a serial number. The incident happened near the 300 block of Rodriguez St. in Watsonville at 11 p.m. on Sept. 3. (source)
     
  • A person was stopped for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. During a search, officers found about 16 grams of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The person was arrested for having drugs for sale and having illegal paraphernalia. This happened near the 300 block of W. Beach St. in Watsonville at 10 p.m. on Sept. 3. (source)
      
  • A person was arrested for indecent exposure after exposing themselves in public in front of a woman. Police confirmed what happened using video footage. The incident happened near the 200 block of Main St., Watsonville, at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for having illegal drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance after being stopped for an equipment violation. The incident happened near Blackburn St. and Riverside Dr., Watsonville, at 9 p.m. on Sept. 3. (source)
     
  • A vehicle was broken into and items were stolen by two unknown suspects. The incident happened near the 200 block of Quiet Meadow Dr., Watsonville, at 10 a.m. on Sept. 3. The case is currently suspended while police try to identify the suspects. (source)
     
  • A person was stopped and arrested for driving with a license that had been suspended due to a previous DUI. The incident happened near the 100 block of Menker St., Watsonville, at 7 a.m. on Sept. 3. The driver was cited and released at the scene. (source)
     
  • A person was found with illegal drug paraphernalia after being contacted for trespassing. This happened near the 500 block of Main St., Watsonville, at 11 a.m. on Sept. 3. (source)
