With the Santa Cruz mayor’s race entering its final month, both candidates say voters have been told things about their records that aren’t true.
Ryan Coonerty, a well-known political figure who has served as Santa Cruz mayor, a city councilmember and a county supervisor, said during Lookout’s recent mayoral candidate forum that he has “never experienced a campaign where there’s been more effort to divide, lie and misinform people” in his 20 years in electoral politics.
