The Santa Cruz Police Department is warning motorists to look out for temporary road closures associated with the Santa Cruz Westside Half Marathon, 10K and 5K on Saturday morning.
The race will begin at 8 a.m. near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Arcade at 400 Beach St. and finish at Cowell Beach near the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.
“We strongly recommend that residents who do not need to travel not do so,” police said in a release. “If you need to travel through town during the race, please be sure to be patient and consider using … alternate routes.”
The bulk of the half-marathon route on Saturday will follow West Cliff Drive, with a turnaround point at Wilder Ranch State Park, but portions of Highway 1 will also be affected by the race.
