Quick Take

Cal Fire announced that an arrest has been made in a wildfire that burned a trailer home and a quarter acre near Boulder Creek on Saturday.

Cal Fire officials have made an arrest in the case of a small vegetation fire near Boulder Creek on Saturday that they say resulted from an illegal burn barrel.

An unnamed female property owner in the Hartman Creek Road area northeast of Boulder Creek was arrested on a felony charge of recklessly setting an unlawful fire, the agency announced in a release. Cal Fire said it had previously warned the property owner after past fires had been reported at the same address.

A trailer home and about a quarter of an acre of vegetation were destroyed in the fire, first reported last Saturday afternoon. Firefighters from Cal Fire and the Boulder Creek Fire Protection District responded. The fire came from a burn barrel that had no clearance around it, they said, with trash and other debris piled outside of it.
