Road incidents as of 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13

  • A vehicle went off the road into a ditch and hit a tree at 1099 Pleasant Valley Rd in Aptos. Initially reported as a major injury collision, it was later downgraded to a minor injury collision. The road was temporarily closed for vehicle recovery. The incident was reported today.
     
  • Defective traffic signals were reported today at the intersection of Porter St and Soquel Dr in Capitola/Soquel. The lights were not cycling properly, causing three lanes of traffic to not receive a green light.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive is closed for landscape work. The closure will last until 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • Green Valley Road in Watsonville, from Holohan Road to Casserly Road, is closed for the Green Valley Road Multi-Use Trail Improvement Project. Expect single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Rd in San Lorenzo Valley is closed from December 23 to April 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the construction of two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley will have single lane closures for storm damage repair from January 16 to May 13. The closures will happen between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on the weather, and may cause traffic delays.
