A gas leak prompted the closure of a section of Ocean Street between Broadway and Barson Street in Santa Cruz on Wednesday afternoon.
In an email to Lookout, a Pacific Gas & Electric spokesperson said that the leak was reported to the Santa Cruz Fire Department around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The affected stretch of Ocean Street was promptly closed, but there were no evacuations nor safety hazards detected.
Repairs are expected to be completed by Thursday morning, and the road is expected to reopen at 8 a.m.
