Two road projects are set to affect multiple sections of Soquel Drive in addition to portions of Seabright Avenue and Water Street until late April and mid-May.
Construction on Soquel Drive from La Fonda Avenue to State Park Drive will begin on Sunday and continue through the end of the month. This stretch of Soquel will be under construction from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Affected sections of the roadway may be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction.
Work will begin near State Park Drive and move west every night until it reaches La Fonda Ave. Construction will include traffic stripe removal, treatment of pavement cracks, and temporary striping. The construction is in preparation for pavement resurfacing along Soquel Drive in May.
Simultaneously, the following sections of Soquel Avenue, Seabright Avenue, and Water Street are under construction for underground to install fiber optic cables.
- Soquel Avenue: from Seabright Avenue. to La Fonda Avenue.
- Seabright Avenue: from Water Street to Soquel Avenue.
- Water Street: from North Pacific Avenue to Seabright Avenue.
Construction on these segments will be on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., now through May 16. Impacted sections may be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction.
