Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jane Wiedlin, best known as a member of the Go-Go’s, will headline the first-ever Legends Live & Local on July 17 at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History.
The event will be hosted by Event Santa Cruz and will run from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. It will feature an in-conversation session with Wiedlin, followed by a live performance alongside a local “super group” of Santa Cruz musicians. The handpicked performers will rehearse with Wiedlin the day prior in a private mentoring session.
The evening will open up with cocktails, music and visuals, followed by a discussion on Wiedlin’s early years in the Los Angeles punk scene, her early music career and her advocacy for animal welfare. The night will conclude with a New Wave Rave DJ set featuring dance hits from the 1980s.
