Seasonal produce, live music, carnival games, food vendors and a petting zoo will all be part of the second annual Downtown Santa Cruz Harvest Festival, happening Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. on Church Street between Cedar Street and Center Street. 

The festival, a partnership of the Downtown Association of Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, features various activities, including:

  • Carnival games: Dunk Tank, Striker, glitter tattoos, face painting, Plinko, Froggy Fly, cornhole and foosball.
  • Food: Popcorn, elote, The Penny Ice Creamery, Dos Hermanos Pupusas and more food vendors to be announced soon. 
  • Live music: Local musicians, including the Rhythm Rangellers.
  • Wreath-making: Free fruity, foodie wreath-making with the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets, arranging foraged foliage, dried fruit and flowers.
  • Farm stands: Rodoni Farms will be on hand with pumpkins, a fundraiser for the Santa Cruz High School girls basketball team. Live Earth Farm offers the chance to make dried flower garlands and will be selling strawberries, tomatoes and preserves. Sea to Sky Farm will have pumpkins to decorate.
  • Petting zoo: Garden Variety Cheeses will bring members of its barnyard for viewing and handling.
