Starting Monday at 8 p.m., the Sims Road off-ramp from southbound Highway 17 between Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley will be closed for two weeks for emergency repairs.
Additionally, from Monday at 8 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m., the right southbound lane near the Sims Road off-ramp will be closed for workers to install concrete barriers to protect construction crews.
After Tuesday, the closure will allow for emergency repair efforts to a pipe system buried near the right shoulder. Crews will replace 350 feet of damaged pipes, improving road conditions.
Construction is expected to be complete by July 1. During repairs, travelers should allow extra time for delays and be alert when driving through the work zone.
