We are looking for a strategic financial leader to steward our $5M+ annual operation and 60-person team. Your Role & Impact
As the Director of Finance, you are the architect of the resources that fuel healthy, resilient lives.
Reporting to the Executive Team, you will:

● Drive Strategy: Manage $5M+ in annual fund accounting and a 60-person payroll with absolute transparency and GAAP compliance.
● Optimize Systems: Modernize and oversee financial calendars, budget-to-actual analysis, and multi-divisional reporting.
● Empower Leadership: Present critical analysis to agency leadership and funders to ensure our 60-year legacy of trust remains unshakable.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Oversight

● Produce and analyze GAAP-compliant financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for
executive leadership and funders.
● Manage the annual independent audit, workers’ comp audits, and all federal/state tax filings.
● Benchmark financial systems against industry standards to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
● Oversee all cost reporting and claims for local, state, and national government contracts.

Budget & Grant Management

● Collaboratively develop and monitor agency, division, and contract-specific budgets to identify anomalies or irregularities.
● Ensure all grant and contract budgets align with funder requirements and program specifications.
● Present actionable financial summaries and policy recommendations to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

Systems, Tools & Compliance

● Maintain the agency’s financial calendar, chart of accounts, and contract compliance deadlines.
● Directly manage financial data systems (QuickBooks, FileMaker, Excel) to ensure accuracy in reporting and high-volume transaction management.
● Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Finance Committee, updating agency fiscal policies as needed.

Team Leadership

● Supervise and develop the Fiscal Division staff (Senior Accountant and Contract Manager) through
training, annual evaluations, and regular reconciliation meetings.
● Provide financial coaching and oversight to Program Leaders to ensure excellent stewardship across the agency.

Qualifications

● Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
● 5+ years of experience managing non-profit/government budgets ($5M+ scope) and 2+ years of staff supervision.
● Strong knowledge of GAAP fund accounting, government grant management, and proficiency in QuickBooks, FileMaker, and Excel (Mac OS preferred).
● Proven ability to translate complex numerical data into clear reports, graphs, and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
● Ability to pass a criminal records check; commitment to common loss control and stewardship practices.

Benefits & Terms

This position is eligible for full Volunteer Center Benefits. Under our Work/Life balance initiative, Full Time is defined as 36 hours per week (includes a half-hour paid lunch).

● Pay Range: $99,871 – $114,061 per year (commensurate with experience).
● Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Chiropractic coverage, featuring 100%
employer-paid premiums for the employee.
