At Lookout Santa Cruz, we do more than report the news – we build community. Through our Civic Partners Program, we team up with local organizations that work every day to create a more connected, informed, and thriving Santa Cruz County. Today, we’re proud to announce our newest Civic Partner: Your Future Is Our Business (YFIOB).
YFIOB connects students directly with real-world professionals and workplace experiences. As a leading work-based learning service provider, YFIOB partners with school districts and educational organizations to give all students – regardless of background – equitable access to high-quality career exploration in high-wage, high-demand industries.
YFIOB brings industries into classrooms and students into workplaces. Through job shadowing, career panels, mentorship, and internships, they equip students with real-world skills and expose them to sustainable, rewarding career paths. Their team empowers students to make informed decisions about their futures by bridging the gap between education and career success.
This mission aligns closely with Lookout’s commitment to civic engagement and community betterment. Together, we’ll shine a spotlight on the work YFIOB leads across the county and share stories of impact, opportunity, and the young people shaping what comes next.
