Capitola police arrested a man who broke into Shadowbrook restaurant and another business late last week.
Officers responded around 1:15 a.m. Thursday to Quality Market on Capitola Avenue, where they found a broken window and discovered that someone had stolen cigarettes and drinks. In a Facebook post, the Capitola Police Department said investigators reviewed surveillance video footage, which showed one male suspect.
Later that night, at roughly 2:50 a.m., officers responded to another report of trespassing inside Shadowbrook. After no one was found on property, police officers stayed to watch the area.
Soon after, the suspect returned to Shadowbrook, allegedly to steal alcohol, where officers were able to arrest him. Police did not name the suspect.
