Property code violations

County officials cite property owners for issues such as substandard housing, illegal uses of buildings, property maintenance, abandoned appliances or furniture, construction without permits, and other issues that affect public safety and quality of life.

  • The property at 120 Gera Court, Watsonville, which was first cited for code violations on June 29, 2022, under case number NV24763, has now resolved all outstanding issues. The violations included the occupancy of multiple recreational vehicles (RVs) connected to utilities without proper authorization, the construction of unpermitted accessory structures with habitable features, and the keeping of a pony and a goat on an R-1 zoned residential lot, which is not allowed under local zoning regulations. The property owner has been assessed fees that must be paid to the county as part of the resolution process.
