Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently accepting public comments on a zoning application for a project at 22812 East Cliff Dr., Swhich proposes to build fencing along the side yard property lines with heights ranging from 3 feet to 8 feet. This project requires an amendment to an existing Coastal Development Permit. Residents who wish to provide input or express concerns must submit their comments before the deadline on June 24, as the Planning Department will stop accepting public comments after that date.   • A permit application has been filed for a project at 102 32nd Ave. The proposal involves demolishing the existing two-story single-family home on the property and constructing a new two-story, 2,981 square-foot single-family residence featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The project will require a Coastal Development Permit as well as a review of the soils report before proceeding. (view details)

Community crime report

  • An arrest warrant was issued for a suspect for attempted murder, which is a felony. The incident happened near Ocean Street, Santa Cruz, at 5 p.m. on June 10. (source)
