Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently public on a zoning application for a project at 340 8th Avenue in the Live Oak Planning Area, will stop accepting comments after March 23. project seeks to renew a permit for a two-bedroom vacation rental in an existing single-family, allows overnight stays of up to 30 days at a time. If approved, the renewal would extend the permit’s expiration date from December 23, 2025, to December 23, 203. Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley has one-way traffic because of emergency work. This closure will last until April 1 at 3:59 p.m.
     

Farmers’ market Sunday

The Live Oak Market is bumping with families, cyclists, beach goers, locals, visitors, the young and the old. Shoppers find organic produce from regional farms, tree-ripened fruits, greens, fresh bread, pastries, nuts and legumes, sustainable seafood, pasture-raised organic meats and seasonal flowers.
