Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently accepting public comments on a zoning application for a project at 103 24th Ave., which proposes to demolish an existing fence and construct new fences measuring 6 feet and 8 feet tall within the geologic setback.   • A hit-and-run with property damage happened when an unknown person crashed into an AMR vehicle and left the scene. The incident took place near Water Street and Poplar Avenue, Santa Cruz, at 8 p.m. on Aug. 26. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and having a blood alcohol level over 0.08%. Their vehicle was stored because of the arrest, and they were taken to a recovery center for intoxication. The incident happened near Ocean Street and Kennan Street, Santa Cruz, at midnight on Aug. 27. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for prowling, which means loitering on private property. The incident happened near the 100 block of Button Street, Santa Cruz, at 4 p.m. on Aug. 26. (source)
     
  • A person was cited and released for petty theft, which is a misdemeanor. The incident happened near the 300 block of La Fonda Avenue, Santa Cruz, at 10 p.m. on Aug. 25. (source)
