Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for road excavation. The closure will last until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
- The northbound ramp on Highway 1 at the Harkins Slough/Green Valley Road Overcrossing, just south of Watsonville, will be closed overnight for utility work. The closure will start at 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, and last until 12 noon on Sunday, August 3. Traffic control will be in place during this time.
- Long-term projects: On Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, a single lane is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
On Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue, there are road closures due to a pump station upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. On April 12-13, construction will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
