Mat Weir spent some time at the third annual Surf City Comic Con at the Capitola Mall on Saturday, where thousands of cosplayers, vendors, and comic fanatics gathered to share their love for collectibles, art, and, of course, comics.

I tuned into the Capitola City Council meeting last Thursday, where it discussed how to proceed with figuring out the future of the Stockton Avenue Bridge, which is noticeably deteriorating, according to a 2024 study. While there is no imminent safety risk, and any project is years away, city staff will study options for what a repair or a full replacement might look like.
