Community crime report

  • A 45-year-old man was arrested for threatening two people with a knife and later taken to jail in Santa Cruz County. He faces charges for assault with a deadly weapon, showing a deadly weapon that wasn’t a gun, vandalism, and causing a disturbance. This happened at 6 p.m. on June 25 near the 100 Block of E Lake Avenue in Watsonville. (source)
  • Late at night on June 25, near the 160 Block of W Beach St in Watsonville, a person was arrested for several serious crimes. These included attacking a police officer or firefighter with a weapon that wasn’t a gun, showing a weapon to avoid arrest, fighting against or not following the orders of an officer, threatening to commit a crime to scare someone, and illegally entering a property. The local police were involved in catching and arresting this individual. (source)
  • A young person was caught making or using a fake check around 8 p.m. on June 25th near the 190 Block of Main Street in Watsonville. (source)
  • Early in the morning on June 23, someone put a device on a store’s payment machine on Union Street in Watsonville to secretly steal credit card information. This illegal device was found at 6 a.m. near the 100 Block area. (source)
