Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- A loose brown and white cow was reported on the road at the intersection of San Juan Rd and Tarpey Rd. The incident was first reported at 6:56 a.m. and updated at 7:00 a.m. today.
- A traffic collision involving two vehicles happened on Highway 1 North at the Freedom Blvd off-ramp in Aptos. Both vehicles were driveable, and there were no injuries. The vehicles were on the right-hand side of the road. The incident was reported today.
- Alternating lanes on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
- Alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
- The northbound lanes of Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak are fully closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
- The southbound lanes of Highway 1 at Soquel Drive in Eastside/Live Oak are fully closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
- A lane on North / South Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 1:01 p.m. tomorrow.
- North Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is currently closed for emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
Community crime report
- A 33-year-old man was stopped for a traffic violation, and during a search, police found drug paraphernalia and a suspected controlled substance. The case has been sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review. This happened at 11 p.m. on April 1 near the 100 Block of W Beach St in Watsonville. (source)
- A man broke a court order that barred him from contacting another person and his son. A warrant was requested for his arrest.
