Just ahead of the end of summer vacation, the Santa Cruz Police Department will be hosting its free, family-friendly National Night Out on Aug. 5 at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.
From 5 to 7 p.m., the wharf will be filled with games, activities and food for the whole family such as bocce ball, DJ music, a donut-eating contest and opportunities to explore police and fire vehicles up close. Marini’s Candies will also be giving out free kids scoops of ice cream from 5 to 6 p.m. while supplies last, part of National Night Out’s “Cone With a Cop.”
Free two-hour parking is available at the wharf for Local Tuesdays with a validation stamp from any wharf business or stamp table at the event.
