A stroll under illuminated redwoods is the newest offering at Roaring Camp, with the Felton attraction announcing that Sequoias at Night will open to the public next Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
The family-friendly experience lets visitors walk a 0.8-mile loop through the redwood forest, where 26 lanterns made by local metalsmiths hanging 50 feet in the air illuminate the trail and the giant trees.
After next weekend’s launch, Sequoias at Night will be open on Fridays, weather permitting, Roaring Camp announced in a media release. Tickets will be $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for children, with those under 2 getting in for free. Expanded dates are planned for spring, Roaring Camp said.
Artists whose lanterns will be on display include Anna Bobisuthi, Roaring Camp’s resident blacksmith, and Chris Butler of Santa Cruz’s Mindwarp Entertainment Productions, who created and installed the lighting design for Sequoias at Night.
