Santa Cruz County Parks is seeking an artist to create a site-specific public art piece for the Pace Trails project at Quail Hollow Ranch County Park in Felton.

The Pace Trails project is underway to expand the Quail Hollow trail network. The existing 4.5-mile system will be extended by a half-mile access trail leading to the Pace property, which will be accessible to the public. The project also features the creation of a 2-mile loop trail that will offer hikers views of oak trees, sandhill habitat and a stunted redwood grove.

The project seeks artwork that will complement the Pace Trail area’s unique habitat, plants and animals. While installations may be placed anywhere along the trail, the preferred location is at the trailhead where the Pace access trail intersects with the Quail Hollow Sunset Trail.

Proposals for the project are due on Dec 12.

All proposals must be submitted via email in one combined PDF that doesn’t exceed 10 MB.

All pages of your application should be presented in the order of cover page, written proposal, visual support, fabrication and installation, current resume, and 10 images of recent work. For more information, review the call to artists brochure.
